The outlook looks sunny for Canada’s financial and accounting sector
this year, with employers competing to recruit, retain and employee
people in these sectors, particularly accounting. The Global
Investment Management Compensation Survey from The CFA Institute and
Russell Reynolds Associates concluded that "we continue to see a
vibrant and competitive market for top investment management talent,
particularly in the senior ranks." According to the Q2 Manpower
survey of Canadian employers, those in the finance, insurance and
real estate sector are projecting a continued active hiring climate,
with a 24 percent net employment outlook that quarter, the most
optimistic since the third quarter of 2002.
