Singapore's Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) reports the market for information technology and telecommunications (IT&T or Infotech) services recently grew to almost 25 billion USD in revenue. IT&T services is an umbrella term that includes IT outsourcing, infocomm consulting, systems integration, data hosting services, customized application development, software deployment and support, training, hardware support, and network integration. In Singapore, a number of companies offer infotech outsourcing services including local ones such as National Computer Systems, Singapore Computer Systems, Frontline Technologies and CSA Holdings (the local arm of Computer Sciences Corp).
According to the Economic Development Board (EDB), computer and online games, digital animation and mobile communications will create 3,000 skilled jobs and contribute $1.3 billion annually to Singapore's GDP over the next few years. The infocomm and media services segment, which includes information technology, computing and e-business, communications, and media and digital entertainment, is the second largest contributor (30 percent) to total business spending in the services sector.
