   :: Interviewing Advice

Excerpted from the Ireland Guide

Though not the norm, some companies in Ireland will pay travel and accommodation expenses for an interview, though this is more likely to apply for more senior posts.

While Ireland has two official languages, apart from those where Irish is a requirement, job interviews are usually conducted in English.

Formality, as to whether titles are used in addressing individuals at interview, varies from employer to employer, but it is probably best to start by using formal titles such as "Ms. Smith;" the Irish tend to move on quickly to a first-name basis whenever appropriate. Terms such as 'sir' and 'madam' are rarely used apart from staff in expensive restaurants and hotels.

This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Ireland guide.
