IT companies are benefiting from increased investment in technology and infrastructure as the manufacturing and financial sectors prepare to meet growing demand. As a result, a recent Hudson survey of employment intentions among decision makers in multinational firms found that 57 percent of those in the IT & Telecoms sector expect to increase hiring in the year.
Many well-known IT firms have recently confirmed plans to increase hiring in Japan, painting a rosy picture for job opportunities in the industry. Google recently instituted an R&D base in Tokyo, the third outside of the United States. Initial hiring included 10 software engineers, but as many as 100 may be hired to develop search technologies and services directed towards cellular phones and broadband communications.
