As a member country of the Schengen Agreement, Norway's visa application process, particularly for short visits (less than three months), is easy and uncomplicated. Schengen visas, regardless of which member country issues them, are valid in 15 countries. Receiving a work permit, however, can be more complex. Norway issues many types of work permits. However, most types of Norwegian work permits are highly specialized. If a candidate is already working for a foreign company with an office in Norway, or has highly specialized skills that are needed in Norway, he/she will have the best chance of receiving a work permit. Note that Norway is not a member of the European Union (EU). While Norway affords special treatment to EU citizens for work permits, a work permit is still required for EU citizens. Students entering Norway automatically receive a work permit that authorizes part-time (up to 20 hours per week) work while school is in session and full-time work during school holidays.
This is just a sample of what you'll find in the complete Norway guide.
